This small bowl was turned from a piece of cedar I was given by my tree surgeon, to see whether it was any good. It was an absolute pleasure to turn, and the small of cedar filled my workshop for days (remember the smell when you sharpened a pencil, similar to that).
It has perfect proportions, thin walls (3mm at the top) and the most beautiful surface grain. Cedar is quite hard for a softwood, which allowed me to put a nice smooth finish on the bowl with my own wax mixture. I promise you, when you have this bowl in front of you, you will feel an immediate and strong urge to hold it and stroke it.
