I had two pieces of ash coming from the crotch in a very large tree. Both of them were completely irregular in shape, and therefore slightly challenging in terms of figuring out what to do. This is the result for the one bowl I still have, the other one sold on its first showing to the public some time last year.
I intentionally left the rim to show some of the imperfection, and there is a crack that runs most of the way around the perimeter. In consequence, this little bowl is now part of my “crack pot” series.
